AGREEMENT AND WAIVER

The Camp Emmanuel offers young members of the Church a unique opportunity to retreat away from the pressures and struggles of everyday life. Encouraging participants to step away from daily habits and routines, the camp makes available a community in which participants can become immersed in an authentic Orthodox Christian atmosphere.

A major component in creating such an atmosphere is separating participants from outside influences and distractions. Of course this is a cooperative effort accomplished by campers, staff, clergy, and parents. Your participation in this effort is vital to the success and effectiveness of the camp program.

To this end, participants and parents are being asked now, during the registration process, to start preparing for time away from “earthly cares,” focusing on Jesus Christ.

By accepting and signing this Covenant, campers and parents show their support of the edifying environment that will be presented at Camp Emmanuel, and they agree to contribute to that environment in the specified ways.

PERSONAL CONDUCT
All campers are expected to act in ways appropriate to an Orthodox Christian setting. While corrective or disciplinary action will be taken to resolve situations on site, the Camp Director reserves the right to dismiss campers for gross violations of retreat rules. Participants will be sent home at the expense of their parents.

DIGITAL MEDIA CONSENT

I hereby grant to the Greek Orthodox Metropolis of Denver, its parishes and its ministries including but not limited to the Camp/Retreat Center, Youth, Young Adult and Family Ministries, and Philoptochos Society (collectively, the “Metropolis”) permission to photograph or use my likeness in a photograph, video, or other printed or digital media in any Metropolis publications including web-based publications. Further, I grant the Metropolis the right to use any digital images of me submitted by me or others without payment or any other consideration. For any photographs or images I submit that include others, I have notified them of this Digital Media Consent policy and confirmed their consent for publication by the Metropolis. I hereby affirmatively represent that no one depicted in any photographs or images I have submitted to the Metropolis has objected to the Metropolis’ use of the images. I understand this permission signifies that the digital images, including photographic or video recordings, of me and all other people shown on those digital images may be published and electronically displayed in Metropolis publications via the internet or other means. I understand and agree that all digital images submitted will become the property of the Metropolis and will not be returned.

As well, use of personal audio systems will be allowed only according to the rules set by the Program Director of the Camp.

Inappropriate clothing (i.e. t-shirts with inappropriate logos, short-shorts, halter tops, exposed midriffs, “skimpy clothing,” etc.) is not permitted. Parents agree to assist their child in packing appropriately for camp.

I am aware that my child may be included appropriately in photographs of events and activities of the Camp Emmanuel, and that these pictures may be posted on the Metropolis website and/or used in promotional materials for the Metropolis of Denver Office of Youth and Young Adult Ministries.
